Make sure that our guests quickly and easily find their way to and in our hotel with an area of about 40,150 square meters. That was, in short, the challenge we were given by Schiphol Real Estate and Hilton WorldWide.
A successful project due to the successful co-production with the client, Schiphol Real Estate, operator Hilton Worldwide, Mecanoo architects and interior designer HBA.
The design is in line with exterior, interior and positioning of Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol or Hilton WorldWide. Thought has not only been given to material, colour, thickness, icons and font, but also to logical walking directions, optimal legibility, mounting method and the Hilton ideas. Partly because of the logical routes the hotel really makes the guest feel like royalty.
The decisions weren’t solely taken based on drawings. The client was involved at an early stage in decisions based on produced specimens. Really seeing and feeling it this way. The outcome in terms of the internal signage? A logical set including 422 room signs, 82 information boards, 51 elevator panels and 38 floor numbers. Architectural plans were amended to the signage when necessary, to provide the perfect place for the hotel guests. Unique!
